Evernote is a cloud service, but the apps work fine in temporary offline mode; except for one small point - an internet connection is required to login to your account. I'm interested in hearing the explanation for this. My devices are password/touched protected, but I dislike the idea of never logging out. Get organized and productive with the leading note-taking app. Download Evernote for Windows, Mac, iOS, or Android and create your free account.

Thanks for your interest in joining the Tasks beta for Windows.
Evernote Programming Notes

Tasks allow you to move seamlessly between your to-dos and the information you need to get them done. Manage tasks from a central hub or from inside your notes. Unlike standard checklists, you can set due dates, reminders, and flags on each of your tasks—so nothing falls through the cracks.
To join the beta, you’ll install an early access version of Evernote for Windows. This app will replace the current Evernote app on your computer. You can always uninstall the early access version and reinstall the production version later. Your notes will stay up to date no matter which version you’re using.
To install the beta app:
Make sure your notes are synced. To do this, open your Evernote desktop app and select All Notes. If you see any unsynced notes (marked by a gray sync icon in the corner of the note list), double-check your internet connection to confirm you’re online. When no notes show the gray icon, your notes are successfully synced.
