TikTok is a rage these days, irrespective of where you go in the world. The content creators on the wildly popular social network are insanely good at choosing soundtracks for their funny, bizarre, and controversial videos. Can't get a catchy tune from a video out of your head? Well, I can understand the itch to figure out the details of the song or tune. Here are a few ways to identify or find songs used in the TikTok app.
So, thanks to a viral TikTok video from @ios14tipstrend, I learned an easy peasy way to access Shazam on my iPhone. Here Is The Trick To Easily Bringing Up Shazam On You iPhone. You just go into the SETTINGS on your iPhone. Rare sound on TikTok. Shazam was no help! Electronic/ ethereal / something you’d hear while on hold with the pharmacy. Posted by 1 minute ago.
Whether you want to listen to the full track on repeat mode or use the same track to create your video, you need to identify the song first. We are here to help.
Let's begin.
1. Shazam
Shazam is a music recognition app that works on Android and iOS. It also integrates directly with Siri and Assistant. Just download the app, create a free account, and set it up.
Play that cool TikTok video on loudspeaker or another smartphone, and fire up Shazam to identify the song used in the video. Shazam will record the audio, compare it with its database, do some magic, and tell you all you need to know. That includes the name of the song, artist, and album, among other details.
You can directly open it in Apple Music or Spotify music streaming app once Shazam finds the song used in the TikTok video.
If it fails to recognize the song, I suggest you try at least once again. It can be possible that the first time didn't record well, or you were too late to hit the Shazam button or even were faced with a poor internet connection.
Apple acquired Shazam recently and the service has seen some improvements. It is free to use with no in-app purchases.

SoundHound entered the music recognition game late but made a name for itself pretty soon. That's because it is blazing fast at finding songs playing around it including the once used in TikTok videos. The process remains the same. Play the song or the TikTok video and record it on SoundHound.
The app will not only find the TikTok song but also show its video as well as lyrics at the bottom of the screen. The lyrics will be highlighted in real-time as the song plays. Like Shazam, all your recent TikTok song discoveries will be saved in your account for future reference.
SoundHound works with Spotify and Apple Music so you can quickly create a playlist of all your favorite TikTok videos. That will require an in-app purchase, which will cost you $6.99.

3. Musixmatch
Can't find that TikTok song in either Shazam or SoundHound? While the chances of that happening are slim, there's always a possibility that you have found a rare song. Maybe a regional or folk song? Try Musixmatch. They claim to have the largest catalog of music lyrics that you can search on your phone. Just enter a few phrases you heard on TikTok and search. You may have to try a few different phrases from the song you heard before you see the correct results. You may see more than one song displayed. So, you will have to listen to each one before you find the one used.
Once you do find the song used in the TikTok video, you can view the entire lyrics, name of the song, artist, and album, and a way to translate the lyrics in a foreign language of your choice. You can also link Musixmatch to your Spotify account to manage playlists.
Musixmatch recently updated their app to bring it on par with Shazam and other music recognition services. That means you can use it to find songs used in TikTok video directly instead of having to type the lyrics. You may try that since they do have a large library of lyrics and soundtracks. The pro version begins at $3.99 and offers access to more lyrics, remove ads, unlimited translations, and party mode.
Note: YouTube Music is also pretty good at identifying music tracks based on lyrics you input in the search bar. I am not surprised seeing how every song from every part of the world finds its way onto the platform.Download Musixmatch for AndroidDownload Musixmatch for iOSDiscover the Music
